[Hardcider] Mac Mini DVI to HDMI to HDTV?

Hey all.  With bonus time around the corner I'm wanting to build a better
audio and video beast for the upstairs.  What I'd like to do is get a Mac
Mini with max ram and as much disk as will fit and plug that into a TV via
the DVI (to HDMI) interface.

What I'm worried about is output to the screen.  I'm only talking about a
27-30 inch screen so I think the Mini should be able to power a screen of
that size (maybe?).  But without a graphics chip can the Mini play a DVD on
a high-def TV without a great amount of pixelization, etc?  Does anyone have
this kind of setup and do you like it?
