[Hardcider] Backups

I have a Powerbook that just lost it's hard drive. Luckily I had recently
done a backup of my home directory to external firewire drive. However, the
backup was just by chance. I am looking for an automated solution. The PB is
my only OSX machine. I have plenty of space for a backup on my Linux server.
I've been reading about OSX backups and the rub seems to be preserving the
resource forks. Does anyone have any ideas on a network based full backup
solution for OSX? Backing up to a .MAC account would break the NDA for some
of the code I work on, so that is not an option. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.
